On September 26, 2025, the European Researchers’ Night took place and in Graz, SmartCorners was part of it. Organized by acib GmbH, the event “Life is Science – in a world turned upside down” took place.

AVL DiTEST and Armengaud Innovate GmbH were jointly hosting a hands-on station (“Mitmachstation”) under the theme “driving sideways – no problem” showcasing the SmartCorners demonstrator and engaging with children by controlling remote cars. Many interesting discussions took place while the visitors of our stands were parking their mini cars! It was also a possibility to present the E-VOLVE Cluster, where SmartCorners is a member of.

The event started at 15:00 and with more than 750 visitors, it was a true success until the official closure at 19:00. We are glad to be sharing further impressions here. Thanks a lot to the team from Life is Science, thanks to our SmartCorners team preparing the contribution and special thanks to Walter Lukesch AVL DiTEST and Florian Ratz, Armengaud Innovate for hosting the stand and answering the questions of kids of all ages. And never forget: thanks a lot to all our visitors, it was a pleasure experiencing this night of research with you!

🟡 Driving Innovation 🟡

How can you best present innovative solutions developed in a project in the course of a General Assembly?

During two days of meeting, the consortium was discussing the status of the project and already there; great highlights have been presented. Hosted by our project partner Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd. the experience continued with a press conference presenting the projects SmartCorners, HighScape and EM-TECH project

And the true highlight? Well; when we are saying we’re “driving innovation”, that’s what we actually do! Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd. gave us the possibility to experience in-wheel motor technology and drive test cars ourselves – the best you can do to automotive enthusiasts!

Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd. Petra Jan Gorazd Gotovac Iztok Franko Tomaž Kompara Matic Herzog and all colleagues involved; thank you very much for this incredible experience and for showcasing the results of our project.

We’re sharing some highlights in the pictures and are happy to be able to show you even more, soon.

SmartCorners SAE International WCX 2025!

SAE WCX2025 is taking place, this week and SmartCorners is part of it with the paper

“European Initiatives for User-Centric Design of Electric Vehicles”

jointly prepared with the projects EFFEREST and MINDED project. The paper presents the latest advancements of the research projects and showcases their complementarities to address the European priorities as identified in the 2Zero SRIA.

Looking forward to this excellent opportunity and the exchange with all experts and stakeholders present.

General Assembly

Today we are sharing with you some impressions from our General Assembly meeting, taking place from 28th until 29th of January in Torino, Italy.

This meeting marked the beginning of our second project year and we’ve seen great progress from all partners involved. The collaborative spirit in this project is a true value and would like to thank all partners for their contributions. This second year will also be both intense and very interesting, having many technical advancements, dissemination activities and our first review meeting ahead of us.

This general assembly has been a great synchronization point to plan and discuss upcoming activities and we would like to thank all partners for their input – and especially our host Polito for the kind hospitality!

General Assembly

Time is running so fast and it was a already a week ago, that we had our first general assembly with the SmartCorners project in Potsdam, Germany. Thanks a lot to the colleauges from UEMI not only hosting us, but creating a wonderful experience of Potsdam with a guided tour through the Dutch quarter and a visit at a restaurant discovering local and international delices. Of course, the following day was filled with Work Package presentations and interesting discussions – including a workshop on the communication for SmartCorners.

“It was a great pleasure to see all project partners presenting and aligning their research in such a professional and enthusiastic way at our 1st General Assembly of the SmartCorners project at the UEMI premises in Potsdam.

The technical discussions were not only constructive, but also fostered a collaborative atmosphere bringing up new perspectives and approaches to solve our technical challenges and to reach our ambitious targets.

I’m confidentially looking forward to coping all upcoming challenges with such a great team!”
